The Dissenters Graveyard

Today I went off with a friend to explore a nearby Dissenters' Graveyard. Some might see it as dead boring (pun fully intended) but we took some time to read the inscriptions on some of the graves, it was like a portal through time...





Ernest Albert Beck, aged 6 1/2 years

Arthur Leslie Platts, killed in action 20th July 1916, France

George Alfred Stainton, Royal Field Artillery. Died Oct 15th 1918 as the result of wounds sustained in France.

Ellen West, died 1865, buried along with 6 children (presumably her own)


Rifleman Edward Kettles, killed in action in France, August 28th 1918.
